3 Things To Do To Make Your Move Easier

If you are getting ready to move, there are a lot of things that you are going to need to do. All those things can be really stressful. Luckily, there are things that you can do to make sure that your move goes easier and is less stressful for you.

Create a Schedule

One thing that you can do is to create a schedule for your move. Grab a blank calendar or create your own, and then circle the day that you are moving. Put deadlines on the calendar, such as when you should rent the truck, when you need to pick up the truck, when you should change your utilities over, and you can even put in what days you want to work on packing what rooms. The schedule will make it easier for you because all you have to do is look at your calendar and you will see when things need to be handled.

To-Do List

You can put your to-do list on your schedule so that you can stay coordinated. There are several ways you can create a to-do list. You can either set up one big list that is rather general and will give you some leeway in getting things done. Or you can make one big master list and several sub-lists. Those smaller lists can be broken down by things like packing up a room and everything you are going to need to do to pack up that room, or broken down by day, or any other way that you feel comfortable with. One nice thing about setting up a to-do list, especially one that has several short, easy tasks to do, is that you can cross those tasks off the list and get the satisfaction of getting things done. When you are feeling inundated with stuff to do, crossing things off the list will make you feel like you have forward progress.

Supplies

Another thing that you can do is to make sure that you have enough supplies to move. That includes not only boxes, but also tape, markers, paper to wrap fragile things in, and packing material to fill up empty spaces. If you choose to buy your boxes from a moving supplies store, you may be able to sell back any extra boxes, so buying extras shouldn't be a problem. It is much better to have extra than it is to get down to the wire and not having all the equipment you need.

If you are going to be moving, you are likely stressing over the process. There are things that you can do to make your move easier. For more information, contact your preferred moving company.

About Me

Storing Successfully For Years

When was the last time you started thinking about going through and decluttering your home? If you are like most people, you might have a room or two that needs to be decluttered, which is why I think everyone should have a storage unit. I rented my first storage unit a few years ago, and it was incredible to see how much of a difference they made for us. Within a few months, we were able to work our way through every room in our home to find different areas that needed to be decluttered, and it was amazing to see how much cleaner my space felt. Check out this blog for great information on storing successfully.
